Chinese technical language translated into clear German.
Our door is open to anyone who wants to conquer the Chinese market with their own products – or simply would like to have their manufacturing done in China . CTC helps to overcome language barriers and to understand cultural differences. The Tietje Group is also at home in Asia through the German-Chinese joint venture German Trade Center (GTC). In this way , the entrepreneurial dreams of German and European customers are turned into concrete plans that are then implemented. At the Itzehoe site there is also 7 hectares of storage space available as a trans-shipment point for imports and exports. At the Cape Town site in South Africa the Tietje Group is developing a network for wholesale trade. The focus there: import of our South African own brand “Forest Creek” wine to Germany.
How the white sausage came to China.Augustin from Augsburg is the managing partner of a flourishing chain of butchers in Augsburg which he took over from his father 7 years ago. Since then, he has been working to build on this success. A Hamburg friend of Augustin knows that he would like to launch his white sausages in the Chinese market. German white sausages as an export hit - now that would be something. Augustin’s friend talks about the Tietje Group, which a while back opened a new site in Itzehoe. If Augustin had contact with China and the white sausages were accepted there, he calculates that production could be increased by 5 tons a year. In a preliminary discussion with André Weidmann, Augustin explains his project. André Weidmann first enquires as to whether Augustin from Augsburg wants to conclude a German-German trading deal – in other words sell the goods to CTC. Or whether CTC should instead act as a trade agency: look for purchasers in China, make contacts and lay the groundwork for a German-Chinese business deal. Both variants are possible with CTC. Augustin would like to wait to decide on this initially. In a personal discussion in Itzehoe, details are examined and CTC sets out to find interested customers. André Weidmann’s team is successful in the province of Sichuan.

Furniture instead of medicineMaike from Marburg was referred to CTC with her import query. Her project: to first import mugs from China and sell them under her own brand to doctor’s surgeries and offices and to use them as gifts for customer acquisition purposes. She then wishes to equip the newly acquired customers with innovative furniture and interior decorations. Contacts are available. During an initial discussion by telephone, Maike from Marburg and Mr Weidmann clarify the requirements. An extensive requirements list is prepared. Although in general it would be possible to design new mugs, the initial idea is to use existing designs. This enables Maike to save on the budget, which she would like to invest in marketing and an online shop. André Weidmann informs Maike that CTC can support her both with e-commerce and in the creation of the brand. Although Maike has already commissioned an agency, she is attracted by this comprehensive service. Mr Weidmanns’s team passes the enquiry on to the Chinese sister company GTC (German Trade Center) and just 10 working days later receives a response with various designs. Maike decides on a variant printed with her new logo and CTC here in Germany initially purchases 1,000 mugs. This removes the need for her to pay customs duties to China. The first joint deal has been successfully completed. Plans are already being drawn up for next year.

Thrigg from Hanover – open to everything. An unusual enquiry from an unusual group of four comes in to CTC. Through activities on the world’s leading film portal, Thrigg already has more than a million regular viewers. The Hanover quartet would like to use this reach to market products. Thrigg does not yet know which products. Since three of the four sitting with André Weidmann are wearing sunglasses, he asks what they would think of their own Thrigg collection. The four look at each other and start to laugh. They had thought about that once, they say, but were not sure how to go about it. Now they would really get to know CTC, comments André Weidmann. With the China Trade Center, quite a bit could be done. After the startup product portfolio is agreed with Thrigg, CTC will look for the appropriate manufacturers in China. For an energy drink, CTC South Africa might also be able to be brought on board. Thrigg is happy to have support in the development of the online shop. They say that they are strongest in the area of films and short clips.
